Belle Epoque wedding video – Lydia & Mike

Apr 25, 2016 | Cheshire wedding video, Spring wedding, wedding video

A Belle Epoque wedding video.

Lydia and Mike had a lovely Belle Epoque wedding in Knutsford, Cheshire in mid April.

I’m in a very privileged position. Not only do I get to film the most important day of a person’s life, I also get to review it before anybody else. Lydia and Mike’s wedding has genuinely been a joy to look back over and I was waking up every morning last week looking forward to working on their wedding film. On the day it’s very easy to get caught up in being in the right place at the right time and trying to film EVERYTHING. This understandably is what I am there to do of course, but sometimes it’s not until afterwards that I realise how wonderful a day really was. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the day, I always do, but it was only putting this film together that I realised just how much Lydia and Mike’s wedding day touched me.
Lydia and Mike are great together, you can clearly see the genuine affection they have for each other. When Craig Smith (their awesome photographer) and I were shooting portraits it was very easy to see the tenderness between them as they cosied up to each other in the “spring breeze”. These guys are very much in love and it was very plain for all to see.

The speeches given were in equal parts funny and genuine, which is exactly what I love to see. Hearing Mike speak about his wife cast my mind forward to my own wedding in six months time. His was a speech that was heartfelt and honest (and not in the least bit soppy 😉 ) and one that I will be looking back to when it comes time to write my own.

The venue was awesome as well. I’ve never done a Belle Epoque wedding video before and I have to say, I’m really glad I got the opportunity. The Belle Epoque in Knutsford is a very unique space: a cross between old and modern with a surprising amount of space and a lovely little courtyard. It was a perfect choice for Lydia and Mike as it gave their wedding a very intimate feel. I have to acknowledge the staff as well who were all super friendly. This venue along with “The Lydia style” and Mike’s design ideas made for a really special day that was really a joy to film, with so many wonderful little details all over the place.

There was so much love throughout the day and so many people happy to celebrate with their friends and family. I’m very glad that I got to be a part of it to capture some of these memories to keep forever.

Anyway, I’ll stop yammering on, here’s the film:
